The question to ask any cloud POS vendor
What happens at 8pm on a Thursday when the connection drops? Many cloud systems simply stop — the screen spins, the queue walks out, and the evening is gone. It's worth asking before you sign, not after.
One lost evening costs more than a year of software
Add up a busy Thursday's takings and compare it to twelve months of subscription. The reputational cost of turning customers away is harder to price and usually larger.
How ours works
- The connection drops — staff keep taking orders as normal
- Orders, the cart and totals are held in local storage on the device
- Receipts still print, in a simplified emergency format
- A PIN-protected emergency terminal covers the case where the main screen can't load at all
- When the connection returns, pending orders sync automatically — and every 60 seconds after
- The active cart survives a page reload or a brief disconnection without losing a line
Partial implementations that cache the menu but can't complete a transaction are not the same thing. The test is whether a sale can be rung, paid and receipted with the router unplugged — ours can.
