Kitchen Display System (KDS) for Restaurants in Qatar
A kitchen screen that shows every open order live, with priority flags, per-item notes and bilingual Arabic tickets — so the kitchen works from the order, not from memory.
Availability: Included from the Kitchen tier upward.
What it replaces
Paper tickets work until they don't. They curl in the heat above a grill, smudge when hands are wet, and get clipped to the rail out of order. During a rush the kitchen loses time reading them rather than cooking.
A kitchen display shows every open order at once with how long each has been waiting, so nothing sits forgotten at the bottom of a rail. It also removes the running cost of paper rolls entirely.
How it works in Outale
- Orders appear live on the screen the moment they're rung up
- Priority flags and NEW labels so the queue reads at a glance
- Per-item special instructions shown on the card, not buried
- Mark items complete as they leave, or clear the whole ticket
- Recall a recently cleared order back into the queue when something goes wrong
- Route by station — kitchen, barista or bill printer — so each reads only its own work
Arabic on the ticket, English on the reports
Kitchen staff often read Arabic more comfortably than English while the owner wants reports in English. Outale prints and displays bilingual tickets, which removes a whole category of mistakes during a rush.
Who actually needs one
A kitchen display earns its place when orders have several items and there's a real queue. A small counter selling three things does fine with a printed ticket — adding a screen there is cost without benefit, and we'll tell you that rather than sell you one.
Common questions
What is a KDS?
A Kitchen Display System is a screen in the kitchen that replaces printed order tickets. Orders appear live as they're taken, staff mark them done as they go out, and nothing depends on paper that can be lost or misread.
What hardware do I need?
Any tablet or screen with a browser — Android, iPad or a Windows monitor. There's no proprietary hardware to buy. Most kitchens mount a cheap tablet somewhere splash-safe and away from direct heat.
Can I use a kitchen printer as well as the screen?
Yes, and many kitchens do. A common setup is the screen for the hot section and a printed ticket for the barista or bill printer. Routing is configured per station.
