Privacy Policy
Outale ('we', 'our', 'us') is committed to protecting your personal data in accordance with Qatar's Personal Data Protection Law (Law No. 13 of 2016, 'PDPL'). This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and your rights.
1. Who We Are
Outale is the data controller for personal data processed through this website and the Outale POS service. We are based in Doha, Qatar. For any data-related enquiries, contact us via WhatsApp at +974 6681 2778.
2. Data We Collect
We collect three categories of data: • Account data: name, email address, and organisation name collected at sign-up via Clerk. • Usage data: page views and session events collected via PostHog analytics. • Business data: products, inventory, employees, sales records, and other information you enter into the Outale POS system.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use your data to provide and improve the Outale POS service, manage your subscription (via WhatsApp), send service communications, detect and prevent fraud, and comply with applicable Qatari law.
4. Legal Basis for Processing
Under PDPL Article 5, we process your data on the basis of your consent (given at account creation) and contractual necessity (to deliver the service you have subscribed to).
5. Third-Party Processors
We share data only with processors required to deliver our service: • Clerk (authentication) — servers in the United States • PostHog (analytics) — EU-hosted instance • Sentry (error monitoring) — servers in the United States • Axiom (performance logging) — servers in the United States No data is sold to third parties or shared for marketing purposes.
6. International Transfers
Some processors are located outside Qatar. Transfers are subject to Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards where applicable.
7. Data Retention
Account and business data is retained while your account is active and for 12 months after cancellation, after which it is permanently deleted. Analytics data is retained per each processor's own retention policy.
8. Your Rights
Under the PDPL you have the right to access, correct, and delete your personal data, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, contact us via WhatsApp at +974 6681 2778.
9. Cookies
We use essential cookies (set by Clerk for authentication sessions) and optional analytics cookies (set by PostHog). You can accept or decline analytics cookies using the cookie banner on this site.
10. Children's Data
Outale POS is a business tool and is not directed at individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the in-app Announcement Banner at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
12. Governing Law
This policy and any disputes arising from it are governed by the laws of the State of Qatar.
